The 2024 Hyundai KONA is roomier than its predecessor. Its seating capacity has increased and is more versatile than ever. The front seats have also been redesigned and slimmed down to provide more legroom for rear-seat passengers. 

The gasoline model is 171.3 inches long, while the all-electric model is 171.5. The first-row seats’ headroom, legroom, and shoulder room dimensions are 39.9, 41.7, and 56.8 inches, respectively. In the back, you’ll find that the headroom, legroom, and shoulder room are 38.3, 38.2, and 55.2 inches, respectively.

Thanks to the extended legroom in the rear seats, you can seat up to five people (including your tall friends) and still have room for everyone’s cargo. And if you’re concerned about your young family members, this crossover SUV comes with a tether anchor for the rear middle seat and two LATCH connectors for the other two back seats. 

Interior Quality and Materials of the 2024 Hyundai KONA

All trim levels of the 2024 Hyundai KONA have a futuristic interior design with lots of buttons and an intuitive menu to make driving incredibly easy for you. Depending on the trim you choose, the interior materials may vary. For example, the SE and SEL trims come with either a black or gray interior and cloth upholstery. The N-Line, the sportiest model in the lineup, comes with a race-inspired interior, black seats, and a leather-wrapped steering wheel. Upper trim levels, including the Limited, offer luxury features such as dash panels, premium leather upholstery, and a soft-touch door.

Technology and Infotainment of the 2024 Hyundai KONA

The 2024 Hyundai KONA has an easy-to-navigate infotainment system, so you don’t have to be tech-savvy to use it. Standard features include HD Radio, a six-speaker stereo, Bluetooth, satellite radio, Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, four USB ports, proximity and remote keyless entry, remote and push-button start, a 4.2-inch driver information display, and a 12.3-inch touch screen. 

Higher trim levels give you access to dual-zone climate control, a voice assistant, navigation, a Wi-Fi hotspot, and a premium eight-speaker Bose audio system. Higher trim levels with navigation don’t support wireless Android Auto or Apple CarPlay. One of the things we like most about the interior of this SUV is that despite the futuristic aesthetic, the interior still has some old-school knobs and buttons for those who love retro-style auto systems. 

Competitors of the 2024 Hyundai KONA

The Hyundai KONA is an award-winning SUV that goes head-to-head with the Nissan Kicks, Toyota C-HR, Chevrolet Trax, Honda HR-V, and Mazda C-X30. When comparing the cargo and passenger space of the 2024 Hyundai KONA to the competition, the new KONA comes out on top by a wide margin. 

For example, the cargo space of the Toyota C-HR is 37 cubic feet with the rear seats folded, and the passenger space is 86 cubic feet. The iconic Mazda C-X30 has up to 45.2 cubic feet of cargo space and 94 cubic feet of passenger space. The Nissan Kicks has a total passenger space of 92.6 cubic feet and 23.5 cubic feet of cargo space with the rear seats up and 32.3 cubic feet with them down. As you can see, the 2024 Hyundai KONA surpasses its competition with its 63.7 and 126.7 cubic feet of cargo and passenger space.
